Five simple things

In accordance to my policy on nice, neat, and sweet design, I've rearranged a few things around the site. A few things are more noticeable than others. I'm having a terrible time trying to maintain two stylesheets and I'm considering exactly how much damage I could do by combining them and cleaning them out. They both validate just fine on their own, but styles-site.css, AKA the Movable Type standard style-sheet, had 10x more warnings than mine does.

To add to this conundrum, it has some very useless style things in it. I mean, I have the layout down pat. If I can remove those tags and identities, I'll have a much cleaner style-sheet. This, I'm only hoping.

Five silly things I've been thinking about

  1. If hurricanes are caused by warm water, why not throw some ice in the ocean periodically during hurricane season? (mmm, yay for stupid questions! I've explained this to myself multiple times, but hey, don't you all wish it was that easy?)
  2. Is homeschooling at all a hindrance to someone's social development?
  3. If you believe in that whole "Noah's Ark" fandango, why didn't Noah freaking bitch-slap the pair of mosquitos? Why?
  4. Why do web-design companies insist on making people work "on-site" instead of over the Internet? (answered)
  5. Would it really hurt SixApart to provide a glossary of Movable Type tags? When I screw something up, I have to go back to my file named "ifiscrewup____.txt" and copy and paste the right thingie. (answered)

I suppose I'm updating this to make up for my guilt for not updating while I'm in Phoenix :(

I like the layout… I’m not sure whats changed as its my first visit here but its simple and pretty. I hate css sheets too, I have 1 on my site and its full of these useless commands because I don’t want to break anything :D

Aww, thank you! Yeah, I’m scared of what I might do tomorrow, but I’m going to give it a shot. If not, I’ll always have a backup.

Without knowing anything about you, I think I’m going to bookmark you and come back later when I have more time to properly peruse your site.

You deserve a big gold star for passing the “Amanda’s test of how good a site is by how much she throws up from disgust in the first minute of viewing the site”, with a score of 0. Good job. ;)

I never really got into moveable type. I think i’ve tried it once, but that didn’t work out so well. lol. I hope that you can get your stylesheets together nicely. :)
