I've finally gotten back to being able to play the piano again. For a while, it wasn't interesting at all — I mean, after 6 years, you start losing your grip a little. Then my brother started learning harmonica and he'd ask me to play accompaniment. Together we've been through about five Beatles songs, I'm a Believer, Linus and Lucy (the Charlie Brown theme song), and a few other classics. Recently, I learned the intro to Seasons of Love (525,600 Minutes) from Rent, I'm Not That Girl and As Long As You're Mine from Wicked, and I'm gonna top it off by learning Fur Elise — the full version, ala Beethoven. I only learned the kiddie version circa 3rd grade and had nothing else that I liked and mastered by 6th grade to play in the talent show. Now it's time to make up for that and learn my chords.
Speaking of chords, I've been doing better on that as well. I know my chords! I'm so proud! If only I could play guitar as well. I'd be a one-girl show :)
There's a concert coming up and I'm not extremely nervous like I've been before. I know I can sing I Dreamed A Dream (Les Miserables) well enough, and I can play The Storm (...EEEGH I forgot the composer's name) to suit everybody. But there's gonna be a special someone in the audience I want to impress with Les Miserables — I'm going to practice my heart out for that moment. <3 to my bestest friend, Lisa :) I WILL KICK ALL MIGHTY ASS TO GET THE SONG RIGHT. But where it says, "so different from this hell I'm living," I have to change it to, "so different from this one I'm living" so the kiddies aren't offended.
Oooh, but I so want to sneak it in. Talk about going out with a bang.

You’re still beating me on instruments. I’ve only ever played piano and trombone. I can play on the harmonica, but I can’t play the harmonica.
I learned a lot of things half-way, so don’t feel bad. Once you get the basics, all you need is practice and you’ll do wonderfully well. I learned half the songs I know on my own by taking it apart note by note. Took FOREVER but it’s worth it :)
And gosh, I hope my friends will be happy. One of them has never heard me do anything and the other is skeptical about everything. But I’m doing it moreover for myself to prove I can :)
