I was a kid once, believe it or not. I used to spend my entire afternoon after preschool watching my daily line-up of Sesame Street (also on in the morning), Mr. Roger's Neighborhood, Lamb Chops, and Barney — not any of this Blue's Clues or Dora The Explorer crap. VAMINOS OMG SHUT UP. But recently, when Cookie Monster was shut down for making kids fat, I was wondering how it made any sense? These are the same people who claimed that McDonalds is responsible for spilling hot coffee in their laps, or forcing them to eat at their restaurant and in turn, making themselves and their children obese.
What. The. Hell.
A child cannot generate money at a young age, and the only answer to its cravings for cookies while watching Sesame Street are irrational parents — parents who won't stop to consider that their child is pigging out in front of a TV, and refuse to give the "little darling" any more than they want. This is further complicated when that kid turns out to be an annoying brat (95% of the time, this holds true) and refuses to eat anything else until the goods are delivered.
It's flat out ridiculous.
I used to watch that show to sing "C is for Cookie", not "C is for Carrot/Canola Bean/Cauliflower" and hear "Cookies are a sometimes food!". No, dammit, if I want to hear my childhood songs, I will. No irresponsible little fat kid and extremely irresponsible adult is going to dictate how Sesame Street makes my shows. I may be 16, but there's still pride there for the old days of [Aloysius (yes, that's his name) ] Snuffleupagus, Big Bird, SUPER GROVER, and maybe that little brat Elmo — and most of all, my pal Cookie Monster, suffering for the stupidity of others.

I dont like that decision either. I mean, even if the kid is too stupid to know any better yet, the parents should be and they are the ones buying the cookies! If I were to eat only pizza for breakfast, lunch and dinner, then I would get fat. Period. It would be my decision and not Domino’s fault. What kind of legal system is this?

Count Von Count - what a card :)
They didn’t ban him from eating cookies, actually - they were teaching him moderation… my thought here was, “IT’S A GODDAMN MONSTER - NO ONE CAN TEACH A MONSTER MODERATION.” But it appears the bigwigs in the nutrition industry either enjoy making me scream or telling small children their favorite role model is no longer allowed to have the food HE WAS NAMED FOR in such quantities :(
