To remind us what is real

Whoever invented cough drops ought to be recognized by Amnesty International for freeing my poor desecrated throat from its death throes. Either that, or a Nobel Peace Prize — but seeing as that was set up in honor of the man who invented DYNAMITE, that might not be the best visual imagery.

I'm taken back to Latin State '04 when Jamie, Zach, Alan, and myself went to the middle of a median, cars screeching by in both lanes. It was about an hour or two before Certamen finals, and we were taking that time to unwind unless something stressful happened — which it did; we were later attacked by bad karma and got 3rd.

Now Jamie, being my Latin-buddy for life, had a grevious throat ailment that caused her to hack out whole cats, so Mr. Ed found a handful of cough drops and gave them to her. For the rest of my life, I'll remember her trying to "deal" them to Zach who said he had other commitments — mostly scattering grass on Alan when he wasn't looking.

Such is my fractured history with cough drops — creating immortal memories that only brain damage can fully erase; killing enemies of my throat one Ricola at a time.

An unrelated postscript

It's GANDHI, not Ghandi, Ganhdi, Gahndi, or any other of the press's silly variations.

Lol, power to the cough drops. They don’t taste bad either. Sometimes I eat them just for fun.

Ricola are all herbal-y so they have a very smooth taste, but Halls are usually very strong and minty. Considering I just found the Ricola ones two days ago, I found them really pleasing compared to Halls, which I sort of had to build an immunity to before I could stomach them.

And here’s a warning - don’t go to sleep with cough drops in your mouth. You wake up and your mouth’s all sticky - which sucks if you have braces :(
