Thoughts: Firefox 2.0

My first impression is that I like the innovations on the tabbing system, except for the "Close Tab" option on the tab itself. I'm prone to clicking frantically on tabs to open a page when my internet is being stultus (Latin for stupid), so I'm going to have to practice patience. The scrolling tabs thing is really very nice. I remember hating when I had so many tabs open that only the favicon would show up.

One thing I especially love is the spelling/grammar checker. If this were not in place, I would have typed "spleeng" instead of "spelling" a moment ago and gotten away with it, because everything on the internet is true. Aside from the somewhat-crappy gradients used on the buttons, and the fact that my Travian village got raided twice while I was at school (off-topic, I know), this release isn't too bad. Yet. HANG IN THERE, HONEY.

Postscript

Oh, I'm redesigning the site once I get my review back from Umb-Rella Reviews (where I'm a reviewer, coincidently). I have plans, graphics, and lean mean code ready to be laid out within the week (hopefully). Here's what you can expect:

  • A fluid layout!
  • Less side-column/meta content; more room for writing!
  • Less emphasis on lines; more emphasis on curves!
  • Cleaned MT code and consequently, cleaned stylesheets!
  • PINKPINKPINKPINKPINK

Point of interest: I didn’t get the design up until January anyway. I also canceled the review for now.
