No matter what you say

Yes, I know that the election is five days gone, but this is the only free moment I have. Of course, I’m thrilled that Obama won. I’m even more thrilled to see the people in my classes who claimed that they were scared of what would happen if Obama won mope around for two days. And frankly, that’s part of the reason why I voted for Obama (the other part is some combination of politics and goldendoodles): I’m sick of fear dominating political rhetoric. Obama is not a terrorist, nor is he Muslim (which is not a negative thing), or is he a member of any radical organization. He’s just a really cool guy. And although I wasn’t cheering for him in the Democratic primaries (I still really like Hillary Clinton), I’m proud all the same. Tuesday was a good day.

I was really disappointed by the Republican party on Election Night. They booed absolutely everything, including sometimes their own candidate and his running mate (who I still believe is all sorts of crazy). Way to go, guys! Thanks for turning a very tactful concession speech (thank you, Sen. McCain) into a high school pep rally gone horribly wrong. I mean like B-movie bad. B-MOVIES ARE NOT VERY CLASSY.

The biggest thing I’m working on right now is NaNoWriMo. I keep forgetting to leave myself notes for the next section, and I open up DarkRoom only to find out that I have no idea what I’m going to write about. I’m a bit behind my quota because I took a day off for some reason I can’t remember. Probably college. And yesterday, I was resizing the beer label I made for my brother, which really only took about half an hour, but I sandwiched that between two hours of moping and looking for new things on the internet.

Sorry I forgot an alt class. IT'S A BEER LABEL. YAY.

These are cool things:

I love that label. Do I see “Gotham” (the typeface)?

Very hip, yet stylish.

Thanks so much! Actually, it’s Nevis Bold. I guess it’s a Gotham wannabe :P

Man, I love nevis.

I use it for everything. It looks so much like Gotham.

In fact, it’s the logo typeface for my new blog (but I love it in uppercase).

Well, I purchased this new domain, and I realized that it wouldn’t work with my old blog anymore (the admin basically abandoned the site).

I’m not sure if Blogger will be permanent or temporary, but I picked it for a couple of reasons:

  • if I did choose to migrate to another system, both Textpattern, Wordpress, and MT (and more) have Blogger import systems.

  • You can point a domain to it free of charge (unlike wordpress.com)

  • You can customize it for free (unlike wordpress.com), and I will do more of this in the near future.

  • Commenting is easier, thanks to OpenID, and a multitude of other methods of commenting.

  • Commenting just went inline for Blogger, and you don’t have to deal with those popups anymore

  • And it’s reliable & free (a good combination I have been searching for).
